3 Ways to Get Glowing Skin

First, let’s define what it means to have “glowing” skin. No, no it isn’t like you’ll glow in the dark or something! The term “glowing skin” really refers to skin that looks full, healthy, and “awake.” What does it mean to have skin that is “awake?” It just means your skin doesn’t look tired and dull. There is a natural sheen, but not over oily, to the skin, and that makes it glow.

Skin that glows can also detail skin that has few blemishes, acne, and it’s hydrated, and fairly even in color—aka not super red or inflamed!

Now, before you start comparing your skin to others… just know that glowing skin = healthy skin NOT perfect skin.

So, if you have wrinkles, visible pores, birth marks, and so forth… your skin can still be glowing! Don’t be afraid of these things. They are all natural, and they are a part of life. Hormones and medications can also impact this! Also, your environment, behavior, and so many other things go into how your skin looks. It goes beyond skincare, but we will talk about our favorite ways to get glowing skin to help you achieve that. These things take time! So, don’t be worried if you cannot control everything… again, this is natural.

Anyways, let’s talk about the top three ways to get glowing skin.

  1. SUNSCREEN

I will never stop saying this. Sunscreen should be your skincare bestie if it isn’t already. UV light (aka the sun!) causes not only burning, but damage, and increases visible signs of aging. Not to mention, the blue light we intake so much from our phones and computers can also make your skin appear tired.

So, even if you spend all day inside, wear sunscreen of at least SPF 30. This will HUGELY help your skin look great.

  1. RELIEVING STRESS

Nothing makes you look more tired than stress. I get that. I really do. I am always stressed it feels like lately, and my skin is suffering! So, just take some time for yourself, even if for only 5 minutes to relax, so your skin can properly rejuvenate.

  1. EXERCISE

Want that skin to glow? Get that sweat on! Consistently working out can actually improve your skin structure… talk about awesome! Physical activity in general improves your health, so find something you like and get going! I am a big barre class gal, and not only has it improved my health and physique, but also my mental state and skin!

These are fairly simple things to implement into your life. So, glowing skin isn’t as hard as you would think it would be to get! Improve your life, and get that skin healthy! A win-win situation to me.
